I am very excited to hear about the launch of the International Society of
Robust Engineering Professionals. In Japan, the Quality Engineering Society
was established in 1993 and it has been conducting extensive research in
Robust Engineering. To date, it has over 2,000 members and is growing.
Until today most of these exciting findings have been kept within Japan and
in the Japanese language. At the same time, ASI has developed various
applications outside of Japan for over a decade. I am excited to see ISREP
will be a global vehicle to share knowledge and experience on Robust
Engineering and related topics. I hope that ISREP will close the gap
between academics and practitioners in the field of Robust Engineering.
